Dedicated to serving the people of Southend

In 2006 the centre was taken over from Southend-on-Sea Borough Council by St Edmund’s Community Association, a registered charity, on a thirty year lease from the council.

The inaugural Chairman of the Association, Melvyn L. Day, was a St Luke’s Ward Councillor at the time. Today, the association is run by a board of trustees and local volunteers.

St Edmund’s Community Association not only runs the Community Centre but also provides local groups in the Ward of St Luke’s with support funding for a variety of purposes such as sporting and recreational activities for children, additional educational needs, and help for vulnerable adults.
